The Thorns Protect

I believe this is the exterior of Pioneer Courthouse, in Portland, OR. I know it's the stoic building at the foot of Pioneer Courthouse Square, so I've just always assumed it was the courthouse itself. It has such fantastic lines. I took a few pictures of it, but this one was my favourite. Both in the taking and after it developed. The effect of a branch across buildings always mirrored to me the act of stretching your hand out to block the sun from your eyes.

400 speed B&W Kodak film, Canon AL-1, December of 2004. Resized and bordered in photoshop, but nothing else was done to it.
